Reject the Golden Calf, Look Within
A blazing scourge leaves swaths of Los Angeles in ruins. There’s half a foot of snow on the ground in New Orleans. Chicago is colder than Antarctica. Quite a week has arrived with the second Trump Administration. At any rate, it’s becoming apparent that technocratic oligarchy is well-underway. The loathing and admiration of the cult knows no boundaries. Hunter S. Thompson was correct in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas – we are in the midst of the Sixth Reich, and have been for decades. And this isn’t necessarily because of Elon Musk doubling down on a Sieg Heil.
I’m convinced that our country has become so hopelessly stupid and rotten that we’re offering ourselves as sacrificial lambs to ravenous wolves guarding the Golden Calf of rancid Political Power at the expense of justice, truth, and all who dwell in this land. Whether it’s Climate Change, God’s Wrath, or both, we have nobody to blame but ourselves for what’s coming. Deeper into our inevitable doom we go, without apology or restraint. This week, the hierarchy has changed colors from Blue to Red. All the same authoritarian abomination — its lies and insidious objectives shrouded in culture wars, concealing the ultimate aim that comes with the seizure of a power that corrupts all who wield it. A new day has not dawned. This is merely the continuation of a Long American Night. We now bear witness to the monster shapeshifting…
